Log files odds and ends
Reading access logs, referrer and host name lists can be great fun. Today's special greetings go out to my visitors from:
- PricewaterhouseCoopers who showed up just after yesterday's Monday/Tuesday-posting appeared - seems to be a small world :-)
- Penn State University and Worcester Polytechnic Institute - Peter, do you still study at PennState? Peter was my host in Sudbury, MA when I attended LSRHS
- University of Buffalo - Annette, hope you like it at your new university
- the Latvian Academic Network - Urmas, too bad we lost tracks. Would like to get back in contact with you soon
Just wondering if "collecting Internet Countries" could evolve into a major hobby as "collecting Radio Countries" is to many Shortwave Listeners and Ham Radio Operators. Given that I received radio signals from about 286 ITU/EDXC Radio Countries on the ultra long, long, medium and short waves combined so far, it could be interesting to see from how many Country Code Domains pings can be received or be send to a. A traceroute report could make what a QSL-card is for having received ham, utility and broadcast stations. Stay tuned for more on that idea.
