FeedDemon, just purchased

FeedDemon 1.10 beta 1 screenshot

I just purchased a licensed version of Nick Bradbury's FeedDemon - the first time in a very long while that I actually spent money on application software - and am quite happy with it. Online billing via esellerate.net has been smooth - though charging 1 EUR for 1 USD is quite a liberal approach these days. The whole process took no longer than five minutes: uninstalling all those timebombed old betas, installing FeedDemon 1.0 trial version, going to website ordering form (the order box that appears inside the software charges USD only, while the website form detects that I might be from Germany and automagically offers payment in EUR), pasting the registration code into a dialogue box, shutting FeedDemon 1.0 down, installing FeedDemon 1.10 beta 1, done.

Boy, why do you spend money on an aggreagator? There are so many free many free ones! Yes, but if you want a desktop aggregator, it still boils down to SharpReader and FeedDemon. And while SharpReader is the one I actually use most (though requiring the .NET framework sucks), I like to support Nick's work and working style: he developed FeedDemon right under the eyes and with the constant feedback of the community, and the result gets so many things right that lots of open source aggregators might benefit from them, both in terms of features and usability. That alone is reason enough to buy this well done piece of software.
