WikiNotePad, Wiki UIs

If you run OS X, why not have a look at WikiNotePad which claims to be an open source and file format compatible VoodooPad clone.

Is there a good desktop Wiki application available anyway (on any OS)? What I have tested so far on W2k has been rather disappointing. What I want is a desktop app that autosyncs to a web-based wiki and comes with an UI that makes developing ideas substantially easier than current browser UIs do. More on how such an interface could look like later on this frequency.
