Innovate. Make Firefox 2.0 cool. An breathe in some Nokia money.

Blake Ross: "As we ramp up for Firefox 1.0, help us design something incredible to kickstart 2.0 development!"

"We are looking for one area of Firefox that would be improved through the use of machine learning algorithms. In other words, something that would benefit from a 'smarter' Firefox that has observed the way you use the product. Examples of this include Thunderbird's Bayesian spam filter [which I like], or (in Microsoft Office products) menus that learn which commands you use and which you don't and then adapt to (try to) serve you better [which I do not like in its current form]. Though we hope to focus on Firefox, we're not adverse to doing something in Thunderbird instead if you've got a great idea that can't wait."

And in related news: Nokia cash boosts Mozilla - "Nokia has funded a cell phone browser project at the Mozilla Foundation, breathing new life into the open-source effort once written off as Microsoft roadkill." Called Project Minimo, an first ARM release tested on IPAQs 5555 and 38xx is available since mid-February.
