What an interesting day in history today is: In South Africa, apartheid is dismantled (1990) while in Britain, a crowd destroys the British embassy in Dublin at the same time as funerals are held for most of the 14 innocent victims of Bloody Sunday (1972). Sid Vicious dies (1979), James Joyce is born (1882), and in 1943, the Wehrmacht surrenders at Stalingrad.
