Above bar chart shows the HTTP traffic generated at hebig.org over time. Last month, the 10 GB barrier has been broken for the first time. The overlaid line chart indicates hits which have reached 0.8 million per month now.

Note the months of June and December 2004 which were the only ones with a decline in traffic. Now have a look at this chart by Jon Udell showing an analysis of Blogline subscriber numbers (further explained here). If we put "number of subscribers approximately equal to number of readers approximately equal to traffic generated" and assume that Udell's rather large subscription list is somewhat representative for tech blogs, it seems that the two specific months were "slow months" throughout blogosphere and not just on my blog. (In a second step, we could have a look at frequency of postings vs. traffic generated and most likely could show that "slow months" can be even if the frequency of postings is high.)
